Photo of the Mudeirij bridge (mudairij), the highest in the Middle East
( 71 meters high )
A sad example of the needless Hezbollah-Israeli war is the destruction
of this Mdeirij Bridge.
The bridge is on the main
highway connecting Beirut
and
Damascus and was the result of a 4-year joint development
venture with Italy and considered
vital to the economy of Lebanon. The bridge was rendered unusable in
the first days of the conflict in July 2006
Fidar Bridge bombed
On August 5, 2006, Israel bombed several bridges in the Christian
area north of Beirut in retaliation
for rockets that fell on Israeli cities
While fuel depots are up in smoke from a previous strike,
Beirut airport
is shown being hit for the second time

Leaflets & Flyers dropped from Israeli aircraft addressing Lebanese
citizens explained that the destruction of Lebanon is the fault of Hassan
Nasrallah and that he should have chosen negotiations for the Lebanese
detainees
from
the prisons of Israel rather than an attack on Israel.
The end of
the flyer reads: "Hassan is playing with fire and for this Lebanon
is burning. Hassan bet on your future and here you are paying the price"
(August 2006)
Israeli warplanes dropped leaflets over Tyre and Beirut that blamed
Hezbollah's leader for Israeli attacks on Lebanon. (August 2006)
